Tim Kermode MA CEng MICE CIWEM
I worked for the Environment Agency and its predecessor organisations for 35 years until 2011.
I started working in Kent designing Sea Defences before moving to Sussex and then Hampshire where he was the Flood Risk Manager and then the Coastal Engineer covering Hampshire and IOW.
I have been involved in design, construction and operation of major coastal and river flooding schemes as well as pipelines and sewage works improvements.
My career included operational management, planning and development control advice and contract audit as well as design and site management.
I was chairman of the ICE South Branch Maritime Special Interest Group for the 5 years and so responsible for organising the very successful “Working in the Wet” conference. Following this I became South Branch Chairman for 2015-16 and South East Region chairman for 2016-17.
Although now mainly retired I offer coastal engineer advice through my consultancy TK-Coastal and have been involved in feasibility schemes, advice on procurement and an on-going project on potential erosion of former landfill sites.
